Commonwealth Games Design Work

While we were looking at the Commonwealth games we decided to do some design work.  We looked at how the medals and mascot were created for the Glasgow games and came up with concept sketches for our own ideas.  Each finished mascot represents an area within the Commonwealth.  Here are a few of the designs we came up with.

Here are this weeks events.

Week One – Events

Day one: 

Team Africa – Javelin throw, High Jump and Shot Put.

Tupuwae – Caribbean and Americas vs Asia, Europe vs Pacific.

Day two: 

Team Pacific – Javelin throw, High Jump and Shot Put. 

Tupuwae – Africa vs Asia, Caribbean and Americas vs Europe.

Day three: 

Rotation of Javelin, High Jump and Shot Put between Asia, Europe and, Caribbean and Americas

                       Tupuwae – Pacific vs Africa

Let the Games Begin!

Introducing the teams from Rooms Nine and Ten representing Africa, Asia, The Pacific, The Caribbean and Americas, and Europe.

As part of our inquiry unit for the Commonwealth Games Rooms Nine and Ten will be taking part in a variety of events as they participate in our very own games.  Meet the teams and check back in with us to see what they get up to.
