New Technology in Room 9

Room 9 has begun training to use net-books as part of our learning.  Mrs Grant is teaching us how to use them, and is showing us the different things we can do with them.  Today we used them during written language.

Commonwealth Games Design Work

While we were looking at the Commonwealth games we decided to do some design work.  We looked at how the medals and mascot were created for the Glasgow games and came up with concept sketches for our own ideas.  Each finished mascot represents an area within the Commonwealth.  Here are a few of the designs we came up with.

Here are this weeks events.

Week One – Events

Day one: 
Team Africa – Javelin throw, High Jump and Shot Put.

Tupuwae – Caribbean and Americas vs Asia, Europe vs Pacific.

Day two: 
Team Pacific – Javelin throw, High Jump and Shot Put. 

Tupuwae – Africa vs Asia, Caribbean and Americas vs Europe.

Day three: 
Rotation of Javelin, High Jump and Shot Put between Asia, Europe and, Caribbean and Americas

                       Tupuwae – Pacific vs Africa

Matariki

Glen Innes turned on the lights for Matariki with a light trail through Maybury Reserve.  Mrs Buchanan and I, plus lots of Ruapotaka students were out and about too.
